The Edithvale Rink is on the east side of the Edithvale Park off Lorraine Drive. As part of the City of Toronto's Natural Ice Rink program, the Edithvale rink is maintained and built by volunteers in the Edithvale Yonge Community Association in the neighbourhood of Willowdale West in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Our volunteers have submitted the application to the City for the 2020-2021 season. City Staff have installed the water source so all we are waiting on is some cold weather!
As announced at the Edithvale Yonge Community Association Annual General Meeting, Councilor John Filion has secured some funding for our rink for hockey boards and snow blowers. We thank the Councilor and his Community Engagement Manager Jesse James for helping us. More information to come.
As always, we are looking for volunteers and will keep the community updated. Please drop us an email at email@example.com if you’re interested in volunteering.
We had a very warm spell over the last few days followed by a large snow fall. Our volunteers are working hard to get skating in for one last weekend this season. We are only trying to rebuild the south end of the rink. Temperatures next week are going to be warm with rain which will likely be the end of the season.
Join us on Sunday at 8pm for a volunteer social around the rink and perhaps one last skate for the year.
Thanks to all who joined us for Willowdale skate day! Thanks to Councilor John Filion and his office for helping us organize this event in collaboration with the community and the other natural ice rinks in Willowdale.
We had a warm day today (high of +6C) and tomorrow is also going to (high of +2C). Combined with that we are expecting a lot of snow on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Our volunteers will be working hard to get the rink back up. We will update the site when we recommend skating again.
We are always looking for volunteers to help, email us or join or Slack group for more info!
