Restarting the Rink

We had a short run before Christmas where we got a few good days of skating in. The warm spell we had melted the rink and we are restarting our efforts this week.

As usual, any help is appreciated. If you’re interested in helping contact us at edithvalerink@gmail.com

2019/2020 Season is starting!!

Our ambitious volunteers have started to build the rink. We are now 3 floods in and hope to get the rink ready for Christmas – hoping the weather cooperates.

Winter is coming

As we had our first snow fall a lot of people are asking “When will the rink be up?”

The answer is a bit complicated:

It has to be -4 celsius or lower for several days in a row to get started. Any warmer and the ground melts the ice from below and absorbs the water.

The equipment is in place to make the rink, but we are probably still a couple of weeks away before we get started.

Keep in touch and look for updates on our website.

It’s still going…for now

It’s probably the last run for the rink as temperature are going to be rising soon. Our volunteers will make best efforts to maintain the rink for march break should the weather cooperate.

Hoping the community could enjoy while it last! It’s been a very long skating season this year as we have gone about 2 months without the need to do a big rebuild. Thanks again to our volunteers for their continued dedication.
